Come and experience the thrill of bike riding down Killarney Gap, not to mention the spectacular scenery on the way. Enjoy cycling with a group and making new friends in the pristine fresh air of North West New South Wales.
The Killarney Bike Classic started nearly ten years ago to raise funds for our local Cancer charities and also as a way to remember a local farmer and grazier, Mark Lampe who rode from Killarney Gap to Sawn Rocks with a group of friends for an Easter get together with their families. Less than three months later, Mark lost his short battle with cancer. Mark grew up in Narrabri and loved the district. He would be so proud of the effort and support from so many people that will help make other families lives a little bit easier when they have to face the battle with cancer.
The bike ride is a celebration of life offering a fun yet physically challenging event that appeals to many people. This ride has grown in popularity each year with more than 180 riders and their support crews attending the event in 2017, and we expect the Killarney Bike Classic to continually grow with riders from Moree, Gunnedah, Sydney, Coffs Harbour, Byron Bay, Molong, Young, Coonabarabran and Bingara. The Narrabri Shire Tourist Information Centre believes this event is a major attraction for the Narrabri community and they have put their full support behind it.
